Poor construction work caused it. I had that happen to me in an apartment once. The bitchy ass landlord wouldn't take responsibility for it. All my new dishes were busted and she tried to charge ME to have some one come fix it. Ahhh, that would be hell no.

I personally don't prefer Maple or "blonde" cabinetry, so at least that eyesore is gone.
