these workers are a bunch of m****f****...
I live in Marseille and this happens at least once a year. Last time it was because they were losing their contract (in part because of the bad quality of their work)... and the mayor kept them... what do you want to do in a city like this?

BTW

Brak61,
now that's f'n funny!

even without the garbage......it does not look like a really safe city. What's with all of the gangsta' graffiti?

I still can't believe the the youth of the world thinks the gangsta' life is cool and the in thing. Does everyone realize what they are doing?? They are dressing ..talking and acting like American Blacks from the slums that prey on their own people. Killing raping stealing from their own neighbors. Every time I see a white kid dressed like 50 cent or any other rapper from the ghetto I just want to puke! I am not saying the black culture should not be celebrated or even turned into a fad but damn why copy the lowest form of human that there is? Why not the black panthers who wanted to educate their black brothers and sisters. Fight with the mind and defend with the body. That was a movement that no matter what anyone says was making change right in their own neighborhoods.......but no our youth today honors the easy quick selfish absolutely puke lowlife scum bag fuck tools.

One thing I like about the french, they stick up for their principles, and don't give in to stupid authority.

However, complaining about having to retire at 62? In the UK it's currently 65 for men, and will be rising to 67 soon. By the time I reach retirement age I'm expecting it to be more like 75. Ah well.

I'm also french, and I must admit I agree with Sokay. Citizens here cannot understand times have changed. France is a country unable to adapt itself. Administration, politicians, education, all is obsolete. It's a shame but it's also our fault. Abd worst of all, I'm absolutely sure they won't change. That's why most talented Frenchs leave abroad to have better opportunities, better work, more money and better services.

However, dear foreign friends, I must inform you than Marseille is the most corrupted (bribed ?) city of our country. The mayor should be in jail but he's not, you can't see the difference between police and gangs, and it's a gate for foreign agitator since Marseille has some big district full of foreigners...
In fact, I think the three worst cities of France are Marseille, Paris and Toulon. But it's just an opinion ^^

Strikers are overprotected here in Europe . And it's always the citizen who endures the final punishment , not the strikers.

elunicotomas,
I agree, it isn't really cool, but from what I've been hearing the last ten years (but I admit I'm not a specialist on the subject, so I may be mistaken), the country (that is to say the citizens) cannot pay for retirement at 60 anymore. If people don't accept that now, we can worry for the economy in the future.
but the thing that piss me off is that the strikers have nothing to propose... they JUST protest and it isn't really constructive...
but I think that the real problem is: if work conditions were better (physical and emotional), perhaps people wouldn't be so pissed to do 5 years more.

BTW I think we're one of the only country to retire so early. That's not an argument per se, but that may demonstrate it's necessary to work longer, even if people have the right not to be thrilled about it.
