The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

1 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I think it's a superb and very positive movie and also helped me to stop daydreaming and start working towards my goals in life."

The Chronicles of Riddick (2004)

2 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I've met numerous people who think it's trash, but I think the Riddick series is one of the coolest new sci-fi franchises to come out over the last few decades. Never understood the hate toward it."

Van Helsing (2004)

3 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I think it succeeds at doing exactly what it set out to do: be a fun adventure that's campy yet undeniably @$$. It was like a spiritual successor to The Mummy, which I love. Same director, so not surprising.

The set designs, effects, outfits, and props were also awesome. Great score too. Film really nailed the ye' olde horror vibe.

Solid 7/10 for me. Wish we got more like it nowadays TBH."

Reign of Fire (2002)

4 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"No follow-up questions."

Jumper (2008)

5 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I always thought Jumper was a good movie."

Tron Legacy (2010)

6 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Most people agree the soundtrack is amazing, but I part ways with most of those same people when I say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie overall."

Last Action Hero (1993)

7 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Whenever I see Last Action Hero mentioned on Reddit, most people say they love it. It's one of those movies that bombed in theaters but received greater appreciation after it went to video.

Its theatrical release was also hurt by Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park was a massive event, and Last Action Hero released on JP's second weekend. It's no wonder why it got eclipsed at the box office."

Constantine (2005)

8 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I really didn't know anything about Constantine when I saw it in theaters and I really enjoyed it. Knowing more now, I see why fans didn't enjoy it. But I think it's a really fun supernatural detective film on its own. And one of the best depictions of Lucifer to date. But definitely not faithful. It's weird to think that the Lucifer in the Constantine film is based on the exact same character as the Lucifer in the TV series."

Oscar (1991)

9 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"There's a John Landis comedy called Oscar starring Sylvester Stallone. It's pretty much universally accepted as being terrible, but me and my fiancée found it hilarious from beginning to end."

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

10 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"It's super entertaining and fun. With some absolutely horrific dialogue. But I don't care. I like it."

Solo (2018)

11 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"The Han Solo stand-alone movie was pretty good despite the hate it got (which seemed to be due to The Last Jedi being released a few months prior)."

Armageddon (1998)

12 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Yeah it’s ridiculous, but what disaster film isn’t? Plus it has a great cast and the characters they play are all fun and enjoyable to watch on screen."

Ghostbusters II (1989)

13 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"It came out when I was 10, I was the intended audience, and it landed VERY well with me. So I've always liked it.

I feel like a lot of the hate were adults at the time who resented the fact that kids sort of co-opted the franchise and took it over."

The Day After Tomorrow (2004)

14 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I think Roland Emmerich films are 'bad' on purpose. He makes B-movies, but with blockbuster budgets. I’d argue The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 succeed at their goals, namely being visual spectacles."

The Grey (2011)

15 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"It’s a story about a man who has given up on life but forces himself to fight for it in an unforeseen situation. I blame the marketing by making it look like 'Taken with wolves' when it’s much deeper than that, so the average action movie/Liam Neeson fan came out disappointed. One of my favorite films."

John Carter (2012)

16 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"John Carter is an example of a good film that could have been a great film if it had decent marketing, mind reading martians, and everybody being naked."

Warcraft (2016)

17 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I still stand in awe at how amazingly faithful Duncan Jones was to the source material there. Definitely want to see a Warcraft 2."

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012)

18 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"There's is no way you walk away from that movie without feeling entertained."

Waterworld (1995)

19 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I never understood the hate. It was so perfectly '90s. Grand scale practical effects. Kevin Costner was still A-list at the time. Sure, there's pedantic nit-picky 'LOL they look dirty, but covet dirt,' but who cares, it's a dress mistake not a world building mistake. I loved it."

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

20 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"I actually preferred it at the time to Iron Man. It was exactly what I wanted in a Hulk film: Hulk smashing and warring against his impulses to smash, and I really like the Abomination. I kind of wish we could have seen what Norton could have done with a follow up. Iron Man is a better movie, overall, of course. I just find The Incredible Hulk a little more entertaining."

A Knight's Tale (2001)

21 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Not well reviewed or received by critics, but I [email protected]#king love it."

Troy (2004)

22 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Legit actors and a legit screenplay. Wolfgang Peterson did a fantastic job. So many good lines and the cinematography was excellent... people are just mad 'cause Brad Pitt was Achilles but, TBH, I thought he did a great job. Sean Bean as Odysseus, what’s not to like?"

Prometheus (2012)

23 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"[email protected]#k it I'll say it... Prometheus and Alien: Covenant."

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995)

24 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"The Cliffhanger raccoon scene gets me every time."

13th Warrior (1999)

25 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Yeah, 13th Warrior is a hoot! 'I LEESTENED!'"

And finally, The Punisher (2004)

26 Unappreciated Movies (26 pics)

"Jon Bernthal did an amazing job, but I think Thomas Jane is VERY underrated."
