That price was $1,267,500.

One would guess that this was Marilyn Monroe's most expensive dress ever sold. That would be incorrect. She did a movie called "The Seven Year Itch" with the scene involving an air conditioner blowing up her dress. At the time of the auction, it was speculated to go for around $1-2 million bucks. But it brought in a record shattering $4.6 million dollars.
