Shared by his daughter Astrid as a father's day surprise, this awesome dad thing probably made Ed the most famous contractor in OC.
1
As a contractor, he was still working his remaining jobs, but spent his evenings and weekends working on this.

3
Yep, looks level to me.

According to Ed and Astrid, there was a lot of materials left over from his various jobs, and with no use for them on site, he took them home and repurposed them for his project.
5
f*ck, that's cute.

The whole structure is 120-square feet, and has all the things you'd need in a coffee shop. Outdoor patio with some nice lights.
7
Little nooks for caffeine intake and books.
8
Inside, he can fit 6 people, and has included a wooden counter, coffee maker (obviously), a bar sitting area, pastry display, mini fridge, microwave, a chess table with 2 chairs, a bookshelf, a TV, and a menu chalkboard.
9
And unlike the local Starbucks, you can sit here all day and just nurse a coffee. Dibs on that window bar seat.

The drinks on the board were named after Ed's family members. This is easily one of the most amazing things I've seen come out of quarantine.

Obviously, all the major news outlets and whatnot, as well as people on Twitter had nothing but good and positive things to say. It also prompted him to start his own Instagram & Youtube profiles so he can share updates and more builds. He should be protected at all costs.

This legitimately looks like a version of what heaven looks like for me. Bottomless coffee, no people, time to read. BRB, buying a Costco-sized bag of coffee beans and a plane ticket to Cali.
