im brazilian and i live in rio.. thats not what Rio is all about.. the name of this post should be "the shitty part of rio de janeiro" ... yeah we have a shitty part of our city.. just like every other city.. I love rio and woudnt move anywhere else.

As the gap between the "haves" and the "have nots" widens, it will only get worse. The Haves, live in the nices areas,of course. While the have nots live, quote deH "shitty" parts of the area. Then, if they are lucky, get to work for the "haves" seeing how the other half lives....etc.

Not for nothing right...But Rio de Janeiro is not all about violence and poverty.
I wonder what is the purpose of publishing this very dark side of a City and call it: The everyday life of Rio de Janeiro?!?
I have a news to the people who does not know Rio de Janeiro...Those pictures are real; unfortunately; this kind of reality does happens in Rio de Janeiro; but the everyday life of Rio de Janeiro, is not ONLY about what we are seeing on those picture above.
I am a Brazilian Citizen as well as an American Citizen. I have been traveling all over and seeing violence, poverty and others terrible social problems in many places as well as beautiful realities and great images. Anyway, I would never disclose only the dark side of any city where I visited in this world.
A work like this, made this way; is not art. In my point of view, it should have another name...

I think the pictures share the horrible acts that are occurring all around the world.Rio might be in shambles just like many major cities all over the world.It would not be fair to say this is what Rio is all about.This is what the world has become.I love Brazil and wish nothing but the best to a very beautiful country.Now lets samba.
