Self-isolation has given many of us extra time to explore and experiment with new hobbies and interests. For 40-year-old dance instructor Clare Meardon that energy has been put into creating hilarious videos of her walking her dog in bizarre costumes.
1
In a recent interview, Clare shared that her inspiration for creating the videos came from two things: being challenged by a friend, and a desire to spread laughter during a time we could all use a smile.
2
Now, that's something I think we all can get on board with.

"Because I run a dance school, I have a lot of costumes which I make myself."
4
"We were meant to be having a show in July, so I'd taken them all home to fix ahead of that."
5
6
"I was mending the Eve costume, and because it's a stretch fabric it is actually much easier to work with while you are wearing it, so I put it on."
7
"I realized it would be a really funny photo opportunity, and when I took the snap and sent it to my friends one of them said 'I bet you won't go for a walk like that'."
8
9
"After I posted the first clip online, people said watching it was the highlight of their day and I realized just how much of a bad time a lot of people must be having at the moment and how everyone needed something to laugh about."
10
"So the next day, I dressed as a ballerina and walked along the pavement in my pointed shoes."
11
12
"The hype just built and built from there to post a new video each day!"
13
"The main thing for me is about making people laugh. Laughter is the most important medicine for everyone, now more than ever."
14
15
"For me, mental health is as important as physical health. You can have a fantastically fit body, but if your head is full of negativity, you aren't healthy."
16
"A lot of the characters represent different parts of my personality, and how I might be feeling on that day."
17
18
"The superhero costume came from a desire to 'be fierce' and remind women they can be whoever they want to be - they can be sexy and sassy and funny and ridiculous all at once."

This one's my personal favorite...

A 'big cat' trying to escape the clutches of the wretched Carole Baskin. Absolute gold.
