When your home catches fire: the government.
When someone rapes your daughter: the government.
When a thief steals your car: the government.
When your neighbor tries to build on your property: the government.
When you drive over a bridge and don't die: the government.
When a stoplight saves you from a t-bone: the government.
When millions are addicted to opioids: the government.
When Nazi scum tried to take over the world: the government.
When southern scum tried to continue slavery: the government.
When England tried to continue subjugating the colonies: well, that's a bit of a toss-up. While there was no fully functioning government in place, men such as Franklin, Jefferson, Madison and other politicians did their part. Yes, there were militias who fought bravely and of their own accord. But most colonists were either loyalists or completely apathetic to the cause until Thomas Paine published Common Sense in 1776.

I have as much hatred as anyone alive for those responsible for our government's bad behavior, but no one should be stupid enough to ignore the need for taxation, the rule of law, and a certain singularity of purpose. People who think as these images suggest can go f*ck themselves with a red hot poker. In fact, they may want to read Common Sense, because they are in desperate need of an education:

"These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated."

Jesus Christ I wish you people would grow the f*ck up already.
