Who even bothered to assemble this list?
Three are wrong:
#6) Should be "Pull the wool" (as in yanking a sweater up or a wool cap down) NOT "Put the wool."
#10) "Mark my words" just means pay attention. There is no implication that the speaker won't have a chance to repeat it.
#12) "Dollars for doughnuts" is about the ratio of a wager. As in, "I'd bet dollars for doughnuts..."
And several of the others are taken from Shakespeare and have been around for 350+ years.
