Kinessa Johnson is a war veteran who served in Afghanistan and now she's dedicating her time to stopping poachers. She joined VETPAW (Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife) recently so that she could help save endangered wild animals. Kinessa and her team are allowed to shoot poachers if they feel threatened but they try to refrain from combat. Africa is now a much safer place for animals thanks to her and others working for VETPAW.

It is gratifying to see action taken against poachers! Let's see how they feel being the hunted ones. Too bad there is no black market for poacher parts

Went to the organizations web site (vetpaw.org) and they seem pretty well
developed and organized.

It's good that these soldiers can find an outlet for what is probably the
only highly skilled training they've had.
