This is the story of Stephanie Muro Yashimura. A perfect marriage of our humanity and hotness branches.
1
When Stephanie was 14-years-old a white spot began to appear on her face.
2
3
It didn’t take long for her a doctor to diagnose her with Vitiligo.
4
Vitiligo is a condition that causes your skin to lose pigment cells. This loss of skin color causes white patches to occur on the skin.
5
6
Teenage years are tough on anyone, but with Stephanie’s added baggage of Vitiligo she struggled with self-consciousness more than most.
7
Stephanie did a lot to try and combat her vitiligo and would sometimes wear long-sleeved attire in an attempt to cover up her growing spots.
8
Before she turned 21 over 4/5ths of the skin on her body lost its pigment cells.
9
At a certain point Stephanie made the decision that she no longer wanted to receive treatment. She chose to embrace herself for who she was.

11
In 2020, she participated in a photoshoot with a makeup artist in her hometown. It went well. Confidence and validation followed.
12
She now posts Vitiligo-positive posts encouraging others to love themselves and their bodies.
13
“Vitiligo awareness month. Even if unintentionally, this has become a topic around here, right? Lol so I chose a picture that wasn’t going to post, to show how beautiful and sexy I feel just because I have vitiligo.” “I feel so free to be able to be myself and I know that for that to happen I had to seek information and references to find myself as a person.”

15
Although I don’t know this person, it’s cool to see her grow and watch how she can turn her own personal pain into comfort and inspiration for others. Hotness and humanity, folks.

“When I accept myself, I free myself from the weight of needing you to accept me.”
