The girls from ReD Foxes Dance Team (Ukraine) were banned from FIBA World basketball Championship 2010 because their outfits were too provocative and could insult the participants from the Muslim countries.

I am not sure if banning was the proper way to address this issue

but for general knowledge

in Islamic philosophy women are respected for their personality as a human and objectifying them is considered impolite.

this is exactly why I dislike Islam ....
and Dilbert stfu...Islam does not respect women, address womens' rights ...Islam is a religion that believes humans are incapable of making rational decisions on their own , without having the quran dictate their actions.... 27 67

While I don't totally agree with Dilbert I don't think he or she deserves a stfu! while some parts or sects of Islam may venerate Women it seems very clear that the majority do not, at least it does not show it in their laws and treatment of them. I mean if you do not want to drive or own property and that is your choice then fine, it's not ok to force that on women, also whats up with the whole dress code thing? I mean WOW! also the honor killings and disfiguring is a huge WTF! I think we need to worry much less about offending Muslims and they could maybe worry a little more about offending us for a change!

Well, I used the word Islamic philosophy for a reason.

The reason being that brand Islam has been abused by dictators, terrorists and propagandists to achieve their own political motives.

Without expanding on the argument unnecessarily, I would like to say that one should form his/her opinion about 1.5 billion people by independent research rather than a bunch of south park episodes or fox news.

I totally agree that the treatment of women in Muslim countries for example, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt etc. is terrible but no one is saying that their behavior is Islamic.

Having lived in a Muslim country for a good part, my observation is that their behavior is more tribal and manifestation of illiteracy.

If you choose to see than you would also find many good examples of women participation in social life as well.

For example, Pakistanis elected a women president much before many of the western countries and even today women hold many key positions.

And in my country Turkiye (Turkey) we are one of the first country give women rights...

If muslims don't like or feel offensed ...so, don't look . not everybody loves to see her wife behind a fishnet and stinky curtain.
Though, it's OK with Kaylakk...some parts of certain countries are not radicals .
To the rest : leave us if you don't like us .

I find muslims more than a little offensive. They are not, and never will be, European, American Or Canadian. If they don't like our traditions, religions, way of life, including the way we dress, etc., then they can bugger off back to their own countries. Period.

No more politically correct BS!
