Who would be such a delicate flower that they give a flying crap what some meaningless minister from UGANDA things?

Well, i lost a lot of respect for him. One person badmouthing him and he tries to kill himself?

Human population would be 0 if we were all like that....

Yeah, Stephen Fry suffers from a bipolar disorder. Knowing that simple fact explains why he would be affected by the hateful things said about him by a bigoted fool.

Well as others have said he has a mental illness. This is also most likely not the first time someone has said things like this to him about his sexuality. If people told you your whole life that you were worthless, you might just start to believe them. Somehow people see this reaction as weak. How about we blame the people truly responsible for the actions of this prime minister; the christian evangelicals who go to Uganda and spew there unwarranted hate?

How can you go to uganda and not expect that reaction? Best option is to smile and use your wits to spread the word on almost a subconcious level. Trying to kill yourself after that really just proves the minister right, you dont want your citizens to be suicidal....

Trying to blame someone else for stephens actions is not right. If only now the developed countries are opening up to peoples choices and beliefs, you cant expect the whole world to change too. Doing that is plain stupid. And going suicidal over that is just being braindead.....

There must have been other reasons for him to try that, because nobody is that stupid, but i guess its the easiest thing to blame for such an action, which again damages the work of the other people trying to change the country.
