Italy has been experiencing a 100 degree heatwave and the sun is really starting to do some damage. Renault Megane parked their car in the sunlight in Caorle for a few days and it actually started melting.

I call bullsh*t. It was 105 here today and it's just another summer day here, our cars aren't melting. I'm pretty sure the auto manufactures don't use a weaker plastic in Italy...

The car was in close proximity to a fire, that is why the plastic melted. Car manufacturers know well that any day the sun may bake a car very well and it must have been parked on a volcano for any plastic part to melt.

BUT :) it made headlines in our local onlone news magazine which i consider a fun fact :D just showed how little research newsguys do these days (or they do not care about what they air).
