I did a little research , were I live the cost of fire wood per cord, would get me MAYBE as far , in miles, as comparable low octane gasoline costs.
Given the btu output of each.
I used information gained in the source1 link to come to this conclusion.
very cool technology, just impractical for the average user.

that's very bad for the environment, trees are better on the ground(filtering pollution) than burned.

The pic of the yellow Kadett scooting along, with the wood bundles on the roof made me laugh.
Looks impractical in the main, but probably great if you live in a truly isolated place. Worth it for the WTF?? looks people would give you though.
