Beats the popemobile anyday, but it doesn't have enough ground clearance. 2 inch speed bumps would stop it, huh,

It must be pretty heavy for all the debt it's carrying.
The world's GNP is est. $40 - 50 trillion. US national debt is $14.8 trillion.... Accelerating now at a rate of $4.8 trillion/year in interest payments and commitments made to social security and medi-care. The US GNP is only $12 trillion/year.
It's like carrying a mortgage you can't afford. Not to sound like the devil's advocate, but the reason why the US is so militarized, is when banks call their loans, the US govt. is going to default and say "Come get your money". Like Donald Trump, the master of bankruptcy. Sad, isn't it?
The rest of the world, like kids starving in Africa and countries that worked diligently for their money like China has carried US affluence. Saudis own 12% of US soil, China owns 15% of all US govt. securities such as bonds and other govt. issued deposits. These people will ask for their money back one day.

Jimmy Johnson, I don't see the correlation between an expensive car for the protection of a head of state and China owning a large chunk of US govt. securities. Would it help if the president traded the in car for a bicycle?

Capt - US shows of affluence such as Air Force One and Cadillac One are bullshit. It's like flashing a maxed out platinum credit card. You do realize this specially equipped 20,000 pound vehicle, an identical decoy vehicle, along with armored support vehicles, are flown to wherever the President visits. And don't forget the full complement of secret service agents flown out prior to secure the travel routes of such visits.
No other head of state does this, not the Queen, the Pope, not the Dalai Lama. They have their own personal security detail and rely on their host country to provide their transportation security.... And really, if you were that concerned about security, wouldn't you just bypass media circuses like the G8 summit at a secret location? Does the media affect decisions behind closed doors?
