One of photographer Matteo Ferrari’s personal projects includes finding people who have been driving the same car for decades. He then arranges a photograph with the owner to match a photograph from when the car was purchased.

The cause of the rare phenomenon is unclear, with very little scientific evidence available to explain the formation of the discs. UFO-enthusiasts claim that, like crop circles, the perfect discs are created by visiting aliens, but scientists believe the extreme cold weather combined with an unusual current is the more likely reason.

Call us a little dirty (we don’t mind), but at times there is nothing better than a bit of voyeurism. That cheeky peak behind closed doors, the risk of catching a glimpse of something you shouldn’t see. It’s that element of voyeuristic excitement that is so beautifully captured here by fashion photographer Phillip Toledano in his excellent coffee table book, Phonesex, that explores the people behind one of the seedier and more elusive elements of the sex industry. Touching, funny and occasionally disturbing, the interviews and ‘warts n’all’ photographic portraits of these unique individuals make for original and compelling reading.

Cabinet Magazine posted a great feature on the secret history of Cybex-like exercise machines. Apparently, the first "gym" filled with mechanical fitness contraptions was built by Swedish physician Gustav Zander in the late 19th century.

Zander's mechanical horse was an early version of the Stairmaster, a contraption for cardiovascular fitness designed to imitate a "natural" activity. His stomach-punching apparatus evokes contemporary "ab-crunching" machines. What makes Zander so important, for anyone trying to trace the Cybex family tree, is what happened when his machines, created in a European cultural context, immigrated to the US in the early twentieth century. They are prototypes of the workout equipment now ubiquitous in American life.

Homer Jay Simpson is a fictional main character in the animated television series The Simpsons and father of the eponymous family. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta and first appeared on television, along with the rest of his family, in The Tracey Ullman Show short "Good Night" on April 19, 1987. Homer was created and designed by cartoonist Matt Groening while he was waiting in the lobby of James L. Brooks' office. Groening had been called to pitch a series of shorts based on Life in Hell but instead decided to create a new set of characters. He named the character after his father Homer Groening. After appearing on The Tracey Ullman Show for three years, the Simpson family got their own series on Fox, which debuted December 17, 1989.

This Ferrari 365GTB/4 V12 engine meticulously built from eleven different woods, just popped up on eBay. It's one of 25 hand-made by Bill Dietz, each taking 400 man hours and combined three years to build.

Ferrari engines of any vintage are pieces of art on their own, but this absolutely faithful recreation in woods ranging from oak to Philippine mahogany takes things to an entirely different level. Everything is perfectly recreated in wood, from the valve covers to the velocity stacks to the bolts holding the pressure plate on. It got us thinking, what would be cooler to have as a living room decoration, an actual Ferrari engine or this ultra-rare piece of craftsmanship? We're thinking the wooden one, as having a real Ferrari engine would mean a waste of a perfectly good Geo Metro transplant motor.

Amazing Hand-Built Wooden Ferrari Engine...

Angel Falls is the world's highest waterfall at 979 m (3,212 ft), with a clear drop of 807 m (2,647 ft). It is located in the Canaima National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Canaima) , in the Gran Sabana region of Bolivar State, Venezuela. The height of the falls is so great that before getting anywhere near the ground, the water is atomized by the strong winds and turned into mist. The base of the falls feeds into the Kerep River (alternately known as the Rio Gauya) which flows into the Churun River, a tributary of the Carrao River. In the indigenous Pemon language Angel Falls is called Kerepakupai merú meaning "waterfall of the deepest place".

The falls are sometimes referred to as Churun-meru, an error, since that name corresponds to another waterfall in the Canaima National Park. Churun in the Pemon language means "thunder".

There was a Scotsman, an Englishman and Claudia Schiffer sitting together in a carriage in a train going through Tasmania. Suddenly the train went through a tunnel and as it was an old style train, there were no lights in the carriages and it went completely dark. Then there was this kissing noise and the sound of a really loud slap. When the train came out of the tunnel, Claudia Schiffer and the Scotsman were sitting as if nothing had happened and the Englishman had his hand against his face as he had been slapped there.

A father entered his daughter’s bedroom and saw a letter on the bed. With the worst premonition he read it with trembling hands.

Dear Mum and Dad,

It is with great regret and sorrow that I’m telling you that I’ve eloped with my new boyfriend. I’ve found real love and he is so nice, especially with all his piercings, scars, tattoos, and his big motorcycle. But it is not only that, I’m pregnant and Ahmed said that we will be very happy in his trailer in the woods. He wants to have many more children with me and that is one of my dreams.

“Good evening ladies”, Sherlock Holmes said as he passed three women eating bananas on a park bench.
“Do you know them?” Dr. Watson asked.
“No”, Holmes replied, “I’ve never met the nun, the prostitute or the bride we just passed.”
“Good Lord, Holmes, how in the world did you know all that?”
