People in the Russian city of Volgograd are still puzzled by this bridge.
The bridge went crazy without any reason.
It was built 6 months ago, so it wasn't old.
Take a look.
The second video is funny. Could it be the reason? :)

Could it be the reason?

Its not fake - it was on Russian television. They put trucks full of concrete debris to balance it out until they manage to reinforce it. There was other bridges that had to be reinforced in the past so that's not the first case in Russia.

Yep, it's the wind. Same as the famous Galloping Gertie in Tacoma, Washington in the 40s.

the_dado_666, you need to look at the bridge itself, which is steel, rather than just the concrete supports.

We used to have a dado rail in our house, are you related?

Not fake. It's bad engineering. Happened before as posted before it tahoma. It is caused when the frequency of the wind is the same as that of the material the bridge was built with. THis frequency is like what microwaves do to water. Microwaves are at the natural frequency of water so anything with water in a microwave gets heated as molecules move.

:) little physics there :P

sdasd, the word you are looking for is resonance. This bridge does not have a system of dampeners.

Your welcome.
