Ok, so it's not like that tanker races across the water at break-neck speed. This hardly seems like what a "near miss" suggests and more like a "hey, let's see how close that slow moving tanker gets." Of course, I watched it without sound so maybe I"m missing something.

A tanker cant turn to avoid that ship. And in the video the people said they should pull up their anker line, meaning they were not going to be able to move even if the tanker was heading straight for them.

And it was a really close call. if the tanker even would have touched them that boat would most likely get pulled under and crushed.
