Tottenham Riots August 6/7th 2011

I really don't understand the point in all the burning and destruction.

I think it was because a couple of cops shot a family man with four children in the head a couple of days ago. But i read from a different place that the man was a notorious gangster in some housing estate in London. Thats what ive heard.

And destroying public property is the answer?

people in tulsa wanted to riot cause a damn concert got canceled do to weather. cops can be douches but some shit just isn't their fault. this seems excessively destructive. wish i knew more details...

RubberDucky73, thats what I've heard too... I think the police stated that he shot first, which I kinda believe, although there's a possibility of it being not true.

Fact is having the police armed would just make things worse.

I am a hungarian guy living in london and it is just freaking absurd whats happening in here. And the police is not just unarmed but cant do shit. no rubber bullets no tear gas or anything. The yraent just outnumbered huegely by now but even if they are there they are not allowed to do anything.
this country got too fucking liberal. i am pro peace dont consider myself racist, although most of them are black infact. it just got to a point when they are burning down flats and civil properties and ruining lives.
thank god i dont live on a main street. but just imagine if they set fire to your house or shop, i would find the biggest knife i have and go stab anyone i find with a molotov cocktail.
It is just unimaginable its like a war zone with only one side being able to attack.
regardless what you say as long as it is not happening to you.

if a few of them would be shot when trying to throw the molotov and thus setting themselves on fire, well i think that would be demotivational enough fo the rest.

Riots are dumb. It never does anything positive. It ruins the community, Hurts the small business owners, Destorys people's house, and for what? Its liking shitting in your own back yard. You don't do it. I had a friend who was born in LA and saw the riots. Now lives on the east coast. He is black and came from a pretty rough area. His family grabbed every penny they got and moved. Best move they ever did. All this does is scare away the quaility people in the neighborhood and then things go down hill even more.
