Anyone notice that the ones who maintained a degree of control of their vehicles where the ones who didn't stand on their brakes? A modicum of common sense should let you know that if you are hard on the brakes, your wheels are locked, and you're still sliding everywhere then you really should try a different tactic. On ice turning wheels have waaaaay more grip that than locked wheels. Not a lot of grip, but it's still more.

I love these videos 04

That is such a sickening feeling when you lose grip and start turning sideways 39
I live in Alaska and even w/studded snow tires it's the drivers tactics that really make the difference.....slow down people...slow down.

That reminds me ...I still need to put my studded tires on. 34
