Toyota has rested on it's laurels for far too long. They are the Japanese GM.

Its called a 'drive by wire system'. There is no mechanical linkage from steering wheel to tires. The steering wheel is an electronic sensor that feeds info to the cars computer. Like those steering wheel simulators on pc. Because that Lexus has automatic parallel parking mode, where the car steers its self to a parallel parking space.
