Fantastic and memorizing. Many of those great warriors have gone on for their great reward in Heaven while others are still with us living in their 80s and 90s. God bless them all.

My heart is greatly touched by these photographs--I was born in '43, and never knew most of WW2--but my husband was German-he also was born during this time-and our lives reflect the facts of the war. His father was shooting down the planes that my father was building! I mourn the fallen soldiers on both sides, as I mourn our young men in arms today. God bless them, everyone!

My Dad received his Silver Star in the town square of Carentan France. There are pictures of it in the collection. These are great photos. Thanks for helping us remember the cost of the war.

My Father was among the U.S. Armored division, at Normandy, when I was born. He never would talk a lot about those times, and I am sure he had his reasons. We lost Dad almost 3 years ago. Although he was wounded while over there, it was cancer that finally did him in.
I am sure he would have appreciated the restoration that has wes done. Again great pictures.

Hello
@lily (N°78) I can assure you that all the pictures were taken in Normandy.
@dave g. (N°100) The name of each location and caption for each couple of pictures are on my original website. You can see them at this address :
http://www.6juin1944.com/album
/thennow/index.php
And this is only a small part of the website. Website which is dedicated to D-Day and to all the men who fought for our freedom.
BTW I have always more than 50 other WWII pictures where I must go to take today pictures.. I need just time to do that and add them in the album.
To All, thanks for your comments

As a person that went through WW11, one can believe that war is evil, and nobody, but nobody wins. Yet man will pick up his hammer, saw and trowel, and go on living life just as it was.

How nice. I am sure that the locals are grateful they still speak their native language and not German or Russian. French and Italian are beautiful languages.
As, I am sure, the Afghans will be happy someday they do not speak Farsi.

Germany haven't payed yet for the holocaust crimes !!
If i had a nuke, i would have chosen Berlin to be the place to detonate it.
