This is the 2nd-most venomous snake in the world. There's no way that kid could have survived a bite.
It's a good thing her mom had the presence of mind to take pictures.

I'm guessing whoever took the picture didn't see the snek at the time, not until they saw the pictures.

Probably if the photographer (if they even saw the snake) had freaked out, or if the girl had reacted suddenly, she'd likely be dead today.
