The Ghost Ship warehouse in Oakland was a popular spot for artists and musicians who were seeking creative freedom. Unfortunately the warehouse burned down and claimed the lives of 30 people, and the fire also destroyed everything inside.

Looks a fantastic place (seriously) but yeah, no fire exits or sprinklers make it a death trap.

I get it that the owner/landlord is responsible for keeping things up to code, which this obviously was not, but if you walk into a place like that and decide to sleep there, and you don't have/hear/heed those blaring sirens telling you to get the f*ck out, then don't f*cking blame anyone else for your stupidity, or that of your loved one.

Considering that this place was inhabited by "very low income" folks, they sure do have a lot of cool and expensive stuff in there.
