The day after the Dallas shootings officer Chuck Thomas was eating at a restaurant in Pennsylvania. A customer came in and told the hostess that he refused to sit near the cop and Chuck told him that there was nothing to worry about but the man refused. Chuck then paid for the customer's food and he says that his goal is to remind people that there are still cops out there who want to protect and serve.

It may not have been an anti-cop sentiment so much as a self-preservation move. Is it
rude to not want to be caught in crossfire if some cop killer shows up? It's extremely unlikely, but people don't think rationally about that right after a major tragedy happens.

Awesome words from the policeman, though: "Ultimately, we're here for you," he said. "This us-against-them mentality that's out here — we've got to change that. We've got to break that."

I have found that older Officers are actually pretty cool. The Rookies however, always write that ticket.

This is just passive aggressive bullsh*t. "Oh, he doesn't feel comfortable around us? Let's shame him". How about just accept some people are sick of cops protecting each other no matter what. Dude doesn't trust you? f*cking deal with it. Or DO SOMETHING ACTUALLY MEANINGFUL rather than totally disregarding the guy's wishes.

Everyone's got to work hard when they start a job. Cops are no different.

It's passive/aggressive, but you don't think the customer was also passive/aggressive? You're a hypocrite....just like you AND that customer would be the moment you NEED a cop.

I think America is sick, and the comments on AC are proving that more and more every day.

Usually, people have certain phobias because something happened to them.
Sometimes they just imitate what they see on TV.
But if that someone who has had a bad experience gets a good experience, it might even out the score and improve the world a little bit.
