No doubt about it. An Ekranoplan it is!!

I didn't think there was one still left. To see a few more shots, Google the phrase 'Caspian Sea Monster' as this was the affectionate name given to them by the American military when they tried to sort out the spy photos of wht the bloody hell the Russians were building.

Stop speaking without knowing.
This is not the Caspian Sea Monster, which crashed in 1980.
It is a smaller Ekranoplan, called Lun.
And yes, it can fly. Not like an airplane.
It uses the ground effect, so it can fly just above the sea.

those engines are bad ass!! they look like they gimble way out yaw pitch ....but roll?? it looks more like a partial lift craft. I can't see this thing doing barell rolls. I see out rigged torpedo tubes?? it must get some lift ot it would not have a gun terrot in the rear right? anyone got video?? this is going to be my new obsessive addiction/hobby.

it was never meant to fly, like a normal plane.
but it does get off the ground if thats what you mean. it stays under radar and above sonar so that it can move a lot of people quickly without being noticed
