This woman in Beijing, China really didn't want to part with her iPhone 5. After she dropped it into a lake she dove into the freezing cold water with an estimated temperature of -2 degrees celsius to retrieve it.

Judging by the photos she didn't "drop" it but it was thrown as far as possible :)
iPhone 5 wasn't waterproof. I'd jump in after a 6, since those can stand a few minutes submerged.
