Well, reusing abandoned architecural structures is certainly usually a good idea. In that certain case however they planned poorly, imo - the parking slot is taking half of the given space, althought they could've simply built a small parking lot or some underground parking, and used the restspace for a playground or more houses...

The only problem I have with the stadium is that most of them are built on land that was practically stolen from less-affluent people and given to mega-rich guys with too much time on their hands and the ability to use men with badges and guns to do their dirty work.
