River Country was opened in 1976 and it was Walt Disney World’s first waterpark.
Unfortunatelly, it was closed in 2001.
Since then it's abandoned.

Yeah, I think they have two other water parks now. Surprising that they didn't sell the land or at least bulldoze it for another attraction. Funny how fast nature takes over though!

I agree with Dave1212, that central Florida real estate is too expensive to be going to waste. I'm sure they plan to reuse this area in the future.

I'll tell u why its like this the water there is contaminated and it will take alot more money to clean that environmentally than anything else. It suck but I think they should atleast remove the slides and pools then just let nature take it away. The can never use that water though.
