Just depressing, here in Detroit we have tons of abandoned buildings. Some would have been considered castles a few hundred years ago, but now it would be cheaper to bulldoze them and start over than repair them.

I recognize some of thses from photos I've seen before--they're parts of abandoned state psychiatric hospitals, more commonly known as insane asylums.

sad indeed. In my neighborhood (Queens, NY) the last remaining movie theater that dates back to the 30s is now closed and the building for sale/rent. the theater dates back to the vaudeville days. People prefer those stadium style cinema theaters in sterile malls now. And theater as popular entertainment is dying.

they look like perfect places to film a grunge music video. They could use all of them in one video. The only thing that changes when you see the band is the stage and what ever room it is in. A kind of a tour but in hell and nothing but old people in the audiance of some and blow up dolls in the next and so on and so on....
