Largest rattler I've ever seen was shown to us by a Texas game warden. It was very large, about 7 feet long and bigger around in the middle than a softball.

We had tons of Diamondbacks around, nearly all of Pop's cattle had been bit sooner or later. They do better than most critters as they just get a big lump that will start oozing after a day or so just keep iodine and fly dope on it. Not too dangerous unless they get bit on the face, or mouth. Calves can get real sick or die.
