Are you sure that it wasn't the camera that scared the kid and not the skin colour? Being aware of a different skin colour is something that is LEARNED from others and is not instinctive.

this a common thing, I am an half cast (half dutch, half Ugandan) I know 2 kids that just want to run when I visit my village. one kid the mom also exaggerates the issue, by claiming whites eat people. soo yeah, send a norwegian to some locate place in congo, and some kids might get nightmares, opposite might be true.
