IDK... I bet it's some kinda technique to make the leaf decompose is a certain shape. Seein how nun of the "bones"/stems are cut i doubt it's lazer but I may be wrong.

i bet the artist is Canadian or this idea started in Canada. They take leaves very serious up there.
