Pics | 11 Jan, 2010 | Views: 5681 |  +13   |
This man is called Atsushi Nakanishi and he is 40 years old. It’s been six months since, he lost his job.
Now he is living in a Capsule Hotel where he sleeps in a tiny room rented and paid by his ex employer.
He has to eat in a cheap cafe.

Sad, but glad the guy has a place to sleep. You wouldn't hear of an ex-employer paying your rent here in north america. I just hope there's more of those compassionate people than I'm aware of.

doxology,
2fuzzy,
Yall are dumb... It’s been six months since, he LOST HIS JOB.
rented and paid by his EX employer. There ya go, no job. And the place is RENTED so he can't just hang out in limbo forever: He does infact have a time where he will get kicked out without paying for himself!

No.5,
Yes, I think it's sad that some people are forced to live in conditions they wouldn't choose for themselves. It's called empathy.
If you don't think it's sad, what would you call it?

its not ideal, but its not starving either. what makes it unique is the size of the facilities available to him. 100 cubic feet for a "home" is something I have never seen before. (and hopefully none of us ever have to experience it) But after treating the homeless so much in my profession (EMT) I can tell you a "home", in any sense of the word, is a powerful concept for the human psyche. 100 cubic feet is important. sorry if that came out all preachy. i just have strong feelings about it after seeing people die on the streets.
