Phillip Lecter from Tucson, Arizona was in a minor accident when he felt something burning inside of his pocket. He looked to discover that his iPhone 6 was on fire and causing some serious damage to his leg. Maybe he should have kept a fire extinguisher in his pocket too.

candysack,
Too right. Carrying a phone in a pocket.... who would ever do that? Market research shows people dont have pockets. So he is just trying to harm the companies name that totally doesnt expose its workers in asia to harmful chemicals.

Candysack, I'm not sure what rock you've been hiding under but go ahead, replace your iPhone with a Samsung, just don't kid yourself, search Youtube for cell phone fires on Samsung cells first.

Fires on Samsung cells have been reported for at least a year. In fact mine caught fire over 2 years ago and I replaced my Samsung with an iPhone because of the fire!

Lithium Ion batteries reduce weight but ANY device that uses a lithium ion battery can catch fire, from a cell phone, to cars to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner (which was grounded until the problem was found). There have been several fires with Tesla cars in accidents because of the batteries.

Win the Darwin Award! Abuse a Lithium Ion Battery on your phone, car, jet airliner, whatever!

no battery is "safe" for not catching fire.
