#6 I guess its true if you mean "European" for western and "Chinese" for eastern. Most of the world is not constrained to European notions on what to do.

And that's why we own the most valuable and well written pieces of paper on the planet that everyone craves. The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
Every other country copies and reverse engineers everything WE invent. Why can't they do it on their own?

Yeah well, the 'Constitution' would have been chiseled into a piece of bark if the Chinese didn't invent ink and the paper to write it on.

Circa 2500 BC and 105 AC, respectively.

Sorry, but WTF do most of those mean. Only a couple actually make any sense.

@joffenbaker, grow up and realise that the world does not revolve around the USA. You do not invent everything. For instance the Web is a European invention.

whoa! Whole lot of hate going on in the comments section, funny that. How many of you have lived in both cultures? read: European / Americas and China?

Having lived in (and still living in) China for 5 years, I can definitely say that these are true! Showed them to my wife (you guessed it, Chinese) and we both had a laugh at how accurate they are.

For some reason a lot of people seem to think that just because we point out the differences that it's somehow bad. In fact, the Chinese are proud of their ability to not offend when giving opinion (#1), be relaxed towards time (#3), be socially connected (#4)... and so on.

So from someone who actually knows, thanks acidcow! I'll be sharing these with my Chinese and Western friends living here alike :)

Slugsie, well, the internet was invented in the USA. The "web" you refer to is http which requires the internet to run, was created at CERN. This is akin to saying Microsoft invented the computer because of Windows.

Let's think... First this is about GERMANY vs CHINESE and NOT Western Cultures!

#1 - Opinion
Are Chinese more vague in their opinion and germany more direct? I don't know...

#2- Way of life
Good for chinese! They are more sociable!

#3- Punctuality
What this mean? Chinese are NOT punctual? Or can he work more time! If he will start your work day at X, so he can start in X-1 or finish in Y+3! When you are a "semi slave" in an hardware factory, I think punctuality if very important!!!

#4-Contacts
Good for chinese! They are more sociable!

#5-Anger
They can hate you, but will smile to sell something to you :)

#6- Queue when Waiting
I can't say anything about it... Chinese are pseudo-communist, so I think they know how to do a queue.

#7 and #8
You live in a country with more than 1 billion of people... This is what happens. Bad for chinese!

#9 Party
I don't know if it is true...

#10 In the Restaurant
Bad for chinese!!! They are noisier!! And this IS true! :06:

#11 Stomach Ache
Drink a coke sometime work for stomach Ache!! Every country have your solution! For me, coke is better than tea :)

#12 Traveling
This is false! Everyone uses cameras when traveling all the times!

#13 Definition of Beauty
Really don't understand... Germany like black girl? Or they like the opposite way?

#14 - Handling of Problems
Points for Chinese! I am brazilian, and when you have a problem you can use our (not so correct) "brazilian way to do the things!", or something like "jeitinho brasileiro".

#15 - Three Meals a Day
Just cultural difference. Germans only eat one hot food a day! Brazilian are a little different (cold, hot, and the dinner can be hot or cold!)

#16 - Transportation
This is what Communism cause in your country. When you are poor you use bikes, than your country is rich and everyone use cars and when you are more rich, there are some eco-terrorisms that make you use bikes again!!!

#17- Elderly in Day to Day Life
When your birth rate is low, this is what happens! Points for germany!

#18 - Shower Timing
Did germany take a shower???? Serious!!! :37: As a brazilian, I take a shower two time a day, one in morning before go to work and another before go sleep. We are in a hot country and we have a past culture from indian, so it is normal take a shower everyday. It is famous that europeans didn't take a shower everyday and we think this is dirt! Maybe because they are in a cold place (or maybe they are not so cleaner, anyway) I don't know about the chinese!

(the rest of my answer)

#19 - Moods and Weather
When you live in a country with monsoon, you need love it! Otherwise you will be sad half a year! :51: (I really hate a sun day, first because I live in a dry place, Braslia, second the sun hate me, because I am to much white) Day with rain are a really happy day!

#20- The Boss
If you work in a semi slave way, with small salary and a lot of people that don't have job and want yours, your boss look like a god!!! Bad for chinese!!

#21- What

Again, this has nothing to do with Good vs Bad. This is simply a comparison of the differences. It becomes Good vs. Bad when you put your personal opinion into the mix.

And I love the fact that despite being the only one here who has actually voiced any personal experience in the matter, my well "based on reality" view got downvoted whilst someone who did a great (albiet inaccurate) job speculating got upvoted. Oh well, keep just pushing ahead internet community.

And for the record, all of these things here are true (and that DOESN'T mean bad). Those who say otherwise are unfortunately slaves to political correctness at the cost of accepting reality.
