Forget about North Korean or pro-West propaganda. Here we've got photos of ordinary people who live in North Korea. Most of the photos were taken by foreign torists and journalists.

Why do these pictures make me feel so sad? Ordinary people doing ordinary things yet so isolated from the rest of the world.

Yeah, but ask them if they want to live there, or HAVE to live there, they're just making the best of things. They don't look like happy people.

Nice pictures of the presentable people in the presentable places doing the presentable things. Too bad there aren't any pictures of NK's 99% who are literally enslaved to serve NK's 1%. Makes the US OWS crowd look like spoiled whining babies.

These comments show how brainwashed you are. You never see the likes of those images on the media, and now you dont believe people can ACTUALLY be happy in NK.
These images ARE the normal everyday life of someone living there. To me it looks as though the people are happier than in most westernised countries. They dress well and you get a community spirit vibe from looking at these pictures, something which is extremely rare in western countries, in which most people cant even name their neighbours.
Dont believe the TV people, this is proof! Yes, they have a crazy leader (but a lot less crazy than the previous leader), but this is not uncommon in western countries. Italy had a mafia boss as president for many years who owned 75% of the media. And I needent mention the amount of crazies that are in the US or Chinese goverment.

Aindy, Sounds like you're trying to brainwash us into believing what YOU think. Back off with that insipid moronic thinking. No one is accusing you of mad-cow disease for crissake, The people have spoken. You are the one who thinks life is sparkly and beautiful in NK, what do you suppose happens should they try to leave?

Similar results if one is a 'suspected terrorist with no proof' in the USA or the UK, you disappear. Frankly there is a heavily active secret service in most countries, and people do frequently disappear in the western countries. But not one word is said about it. However, the western world shouts about how it happens in NK, Libya, Iran, etc.
Im not glorifying NK, even if that what it seems like. Merely trying to say that life isnt as bad as people make you believe.
PS: The world isnt free. You can leave most other countries, but that doesnt mean you can get into another.
