Doesn't that really mean that 1,210,193,322 people survived? This may seem a little crass, but 100 people dieing is a drop in the bucket compared to the 58,000+ born each day.

Terrible flooding, you are right huffnpuff, usually there are more people killed on a train or ferry accident. Very low casualty rate for that type of thing.

capt.huffnpuff,
adzhoe,
Firstly: If officially 100 people have died, that number is much, much larger. That does not include the poorest areas, as those people are just not counted/rescued, as they have no status in society or financially. And, add the amount that are homeless, starving etc.

Secondly: Saying 'It was only 100', is one of the worst things a human can say. It means lives are only numbers to you.

Thirdly: Does that mean the rest of the world should laugh at columbine and Virginia Tech massacre (which, should never happen), where only 13 and 32 people were killed, which, by your measure: 315,655,264 people in USA, with a birth rate of 11300+ per day to 13 and 32, similar to your own sats with india and floods. Think b4 you Type!!
