"Many things kept under ideal conditions will do the same"" yeah maybe a rock or steel but not FOOD! it supposed to be decompose like any other FOOD, but the "food"" from mac donalds is not real food it's full of preservatives that will hurt your body. THINK!!!

Yes, meat 'should' rot....if it's left outside, it would.
INSIDE, with climate and humidity control, and no pests, when cut this thin simply dries out.
If you simply put it in a plastic bag so the moisture is trapped, it indeed gets moldy very quickly.
