Children in Cambodia catch tarantulas, drown them in a water bottle and them cook them in hot butter. It takes only about 10 minutes from catching to eating. So it's a local fast food. People say that the taste is ok and very unusual. It can't be compared to anything else.

It's not likle that at all. They are a treat. my wife is Cambodian and I go there often. I have eaten many of those spiders... they taste like crab...

Although it appears gross, and I'd probably have to be near starvation before I'd try it, chances are pretty good those spiders are way more nutritious than most of the garbage the kids snack on here in the US, so I won't complain...
