Canada Arctic Ice Road (36 photo)
The road, which is only open during coldest months of winter is considered one of the most dangerous routes in the world and stretches 600 kilometers into the Arctic territory, with 85 percent of the road lying over frozen lakes.
The road typically opens in early February and closes early in April, the only months when the ice is thick enough to support the weight of the trucks. The minimum ice thickness on the road is currently 76 cm (30 inches) with 85 trucks having traveled the route so far.
