The Game of Thrones Iron Throne was built by Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms. It was created from the swords surrendered by his enemies. Here is the real life replica of the Iron Throne.

Is it strange that a fictional object, made by a fictional character from a story, is recreated as a replica?

I know they had to make one for the series, but all the same, it's a bit of a stretch on the description isn't it?

Surely describing it as a replica of the throne in the show would have been a little more believable. After all, I don't recall Aegon I Targaryen from any of my history lessons.

And that, is pedants corner for today.
