Just push the cork into the bottle. The cork will float when you pour the wine.

@ Rey - It doesn't get "chipped" from pushing it into the bottle any more than it gets "chipped" pulling it out of the bottle.

You hold a stick with the bottle between your knees and push the cork down. It's not rocket science.

Done the push-in thing in a pinch, works fine. Never heard of the shoe against wall method, Guess just don't hit to hard against a hollow drywall, you might put a hole in it.
