I did this before but used a piece of thick paper(about index card thickness) with a $5 bill and flipped it onto the table then slid off the paper.

I was gonna say, the plate under it makes it WAY too easy - you're supposed to do it right on the table/counter surface so there's no way to pick up the glass without a mess.

Even if they do flip it back, the money is still wet... Which still sucks!

plus theres no need to even put the money in the glass.
do the paper/card version so its directly on the table with just a full glass. money or not it still needs to be removed.

try something sticky... soda, ice tea, lemonade, beer (make sure its a coors light, dont want to waste a good IPA)

I would never ever not leave a tip, regardless if I got the worst service, its not always the waiters fault, he or she could be swamped with tables, the kitchen could be backed up, or a million other things. I am guessing the people who stiff have never worked the restaurant business. If you get bad service complain to the manager, get your stuff free, and still tip your waiter. They make 2.13 an hour, and when you don't tip they still have to tip out on the percent of money your bill was, so they would be paying to wait on you. Waiting tables is the most thankless job ever. Most of you people who have the kind of attitude displayed above are the kind of people going into a place with the attitude and make things worse. If you don't want to tip go to Mc Donalds.

Yeah, leave a few cents for a tip, that way they won't think you simply forgot.
