That's the thing with morals - They only apply to the available conditions of the person doing the judging.

Stealing is wrong, but you wouldn't think twice stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family in a time of war or when money becomes worthless. Killing is wrong, yet how many people have committed murder under the pre-text of some greater cause?

I'm pretty sure that's around the point of Leviticus where it condemns homosexuality, as well. They were probably trying to warn their son or daughter away from homosexuality and got the wrong page.

And yeah, the Bible is full of hypocrisy. That's all I'm going to say on the topic. I'm an atheist, but I know better than to try to appeal to reason. If you believe, nothing I can say will change that.

This is why religion is fucked up. Instead of being supportive and just accepting people for who they are, they not only judge people but try to force feed this shit down other peoples throats by what a BOOK says. People talk about gay marriage being the end of society, I think it's bullshit. I think this bible thumping intolerance is what will do us in.

When I came out, my mom did not hand me the Bible with that quote, even though she's a minister at a church, but instead she ordered a book from Amazon " how to treat gayness" or something similar. Was pretty shocking at first, but few years went by and she is very "gay friendly" now. I'm so proud of her! :)
