I don't know if this is a good definition of hero... I mean, they were soldiers and their job was it to break the regime of the nazis. and they did it. that, i think, should be considered as Job well done, not as hero.
To me, a hero is someone, who walks along a dangerous river and jumps in to get a person in danger out of there, just because he know that this is the right thing.

ps. I don't want to decrease their merit, its still pretty amazing what they did 04
