Amar Bharti was a senior ship­ping clerk in New Delhi. But 38 years ago he decided to devote the rest of his life to Shiva. He left his family and home and decided to raise his arm ver­ti­cally in the air as if he was a small child beg­ging to answer a call of nature. Once his arm was raised it was never to come down again. That was in 1973.

yeah, some religious people do amazing things for thier beliefs. there was a man who refused to sit down for more than 27 years too. stood up all the time, slept standing up etc, but this is extreme, looks like he did lose blood flow to his hand, wonder if it'll get infected..all the power to him.

i read on it, he can't lower his arm, its' atrphied that way, which means, blood has stopped flowign to his hand, and the joints in his shoulder and his elbow are locked, it wont' go down, even if he dies.
