It's back... and better than ever! The new Commodore 64 is a modern functional PC as close to the original in design as humanly possible. It houses a modern mini-ITX PC motherboard featuring a Dual Core 525 Atom processor and the latest Nvidia Ion2 graphics chipset. It comes in the original taupe brown/beige color, with other colors to follow.

Cool, now shrink it, call it the "Cammodore 64 slim" and sell it for $100 bucks more! Or... thats what apple would do... 13

Very nice, compact, clean configuration. 04 Memory in KB, not GB, and speed in KHz, not GHz? And no display? 02

Great thing, but who wants a keyboard without numpad? And - besides being a perfect retro hype gadget - I personally prefer modern looking tech-toys.

OK, so it's CGI and not actually been made then? Plus it's one thing to try and be as original as possible, butu without a proper keyboard it will be very hard to use. No F keys will make playing many games very hard. Which means many people will just plug in an external keyboard so it just becomes a silly case.

I saw this on another site and apparently there's a company actually planning on releasing this, the name of the company completely slips my mind now (no, it's not Commodore - it's just going to have the Commodore branding on it).

If they do, it's going to be a megafail - except for a few nostalgia sales, nobody is going to want to use that crappy old 5" off the desk keyboard for everyday use.

Its fun to look at on this page. Its prehistoric keyboard design dosent allow for f keys, a mouse pad. Some of these keys would be necessary for the updated operating system wouldnt they? hook up a external keyboard or even a modern mouse and you nostalgia.
