@miscellaneous: the sunlight is focused by the sphere and it burns marks on the piece of paper. you can read from the paper (it has a scale) how long the sphere was exposed to the sun rays and how strong they were.

reidar,....ah, yes....went back and looked closer....you're right, I do see the burn marks and dates on the paper now....just didn't know what I was looking at before....thank you
